This guide describes the basic process involved in downloading software from a web site.
-
First, start the download by clicking on a download link. A typical download link may look something like this:
-
With many browsers, you are presented with a dialog that asks if you want to "Open" or "Save" the file.
Choose the Save option.
-
Next, your browser may ask where you want to save the file.
It's a good idea to save downloads in a special folder, such as "C:\My Downloads\" to make it easier to find them.
Be sure to make a note of where you save the file and what the filename is before you click the "Save" button.
-
While the file is downloading, a progress display may be shown.
-
After the download is complete, find the file that was just saved to your computer.
Now just double click on the file to install the software you just downloaded.
